Stratford, Ontario. This young female leader, from Rwanda, flipped the pandemic on its head, turning disappointment into a dream come true.
With the closure of school campuses due to the pandemic, many students like Elisa could not travel to Canada to study in person. Initially drawn to Nancy Campbell Academy’s emphasis on social justice & service to society, Elisa was disappointed she would only be able to interact with her classmates online.
NCA was able to bridge the digital divide with their unique education model across multiple time zones and countries to help their students find purpose while serving others, even in uncertain times. “Serving others is my life mission, helping girls learn how they can contribute to the environment, sharing education to prevent early pregnancy and helping them study,” said Elisa. From the Principal’s Honour Roll to supporting her family and girls in her community through health and nutritional awareness programs, Elisa’s commitment to academic excellence, extra-curricular involvement & leadership skills earned her Huron’s International Presidential Scholarship.
This substantial scholarship from Huron University will enable Elisa to access further excellent education in Canada, a dream come true.
